CAPTURING A JOURNEY OF
STRENGTH, CARE
AND PERSEVERANCE
For this project, we partnered with an agency to produce a branded documentary centered on a powerful medical story of resilience, care, and transformation. With a deep focus on authenticity, we captured the lives of a family and a dedicated nurse practitioner, showcasing their journey in a heartfelt and immersive way. The production combined intimate interviews, slice-of-life moments, and cinematic b-roll to create a visually compelling narrative that felt both raw and deeply personal.

PRODUCTION CHALLENGES & EXECUTION
Filming took place in multiple locations across Kansas, requiring extensive remote coordination with the agency, subjects, and production departments. We assembled a hybrid crew, balancing local hires with key team members from Los Angeles, ensuring both efficiency and a high standard of production. Given the documentary nature of the project, we maintained a small footprint while operating at a full-scale production level.Utilizing four cinema cameras simultaneously, we carefully planned for both technical execution and adaptability. Shooting in remote areas presented logistical challenges, from shipping specialized equipment to housing crew across different locations. With production spanning multiple cities, we executed seamless transitions between locations, moving an entire production team with precision.Flexibility was key—scheduling with subjects evolved in real time, requiring quick adjustments while preserving the integrity of their daily lives. Capturing unscripted moments meant operating as unobtrusive observers, ensuring that subjects remained comfortable and natural on camera. Filming primarily took place in homes and community spaces, using a mix of tripod and handheld techniques to maintain the organic feel of the documentary.PHOTOGRAPHY
DELIVERING THE VISION
Despite the challenges, the final production exceeded expectations. Through careful planning, adaptability, and a focus on storytelling, we created a visually rich and emotionally resonant documentary. Both the agency and client were thrilled with the outcome, and the subjects themselves found the experience rewarding, excited to share their story. This project was a testament to the power of documentary filmmaking—capturing real life with sensitivity, skill, and a deep respect for the story being told.
